We Read Science Fiction

Well as some of you know I was disappointed by Ringworld after 30 years of hype. Numerous people encouraged me to either re-read it or read the second book in the (unintentional) series, so I read Ringworld Engineers.

Going in with much lower expectations helped me enjoy the book much more. I’m still not sure I can call it, or it’s predecessor, a MUST READ but if you only have expectations for some fun space alien adventure, then you’ll probably enjoy it.

Just goes to show how anticipation, hype and time can color people’s perceptions considerably.

Thanks to those who urged me to give it another chance. I don’t feel like I’ve completely wasted my time anymore.
